Representatives from the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the National Security Agency participate in preparing an annual report entitled Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Community.

As we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 12, I’ve been thinking of the mothers in my family and how they continue to impact us.
One of the ways we remember our mothers is through the family traditions they carried on or started. For example, my mother-in-law, Ruth, had a number of favorite recipes which we still use today. Her recipes for pasta salad, lasagna, and dill dip are still popular in our family. One of our granddaughters often asks us to make dill dip, which she enjoys eating with potato chips.
Sr. Kathleen Loughrin, OP, died April 29, 2019, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. Her religious name was Sister Janetta.

I write these words on Holy Thursday, as the Christian world enters into the holiest and most spiritually intense time of the year. The long season of Lent has prepared us to delve once more into the mystery of the dying and rising of the Lord Jesus.
As I have been contemplating the events of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, my mind has turned, again and again, to the brute fact of pain.
Under the direction of Dr. Patrick Gorman, the Madison Diocesan Choir will celebrate Fifty Days of Easter with alleluias, Scripture readings, and congregational hymns, in a free spring concert entitled He is risen indeed! on Friday evening, May 17, at Holy Name Heights.
