Making our work a prayer

In late 15th century Germany, young Albert Durer agreed to work in the dangerous mines so that he could earn enough money to send his talented brother through art school. When Albrecht, his brother, finished art school, he would reciprocate by sending Albert through art school.

‘The game is afoot’

On March 30, 2020, my husband and I, at the onset of the pandemic, dusted off the Scrabble board and played the first of many (697, to be exact) nightly Scrabble games. The competition continues. To date, I have triumphed in 545 of those games. The bad news, however, is that this ongoing tournament has created a monster, and the monster is — me.

Privacy is a thing of the past

We are living in a time where there are incalculable ways to communicate with someone. We’ve gone beyond face-to-face, letters, and even phone calls to texts, DMs, Snaps, Tweets, “TikToks,” posts, emails, and other syllables that probably don’t make sense to a lot of people.

Building community, a part of evangelization

“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way, the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he has loved us and sent his Son as an expiation for our sins.
