Damage being assessed after fire at Holy Redeemer Church
Crews from the Madison Fire Department were called to the church, located on W. Johnson St. in downtown Madison, just before 11:30 a.m. when multiple callers to 911 reported fire in the steeple.
Fr. Jerome Maksvytis dies
Fr. Jerome Joseph Maksvytis died on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the age of 76, at his home in Portage, Wisconsin, succumbing to terminal cancer.
Bishop Hying celebrates Rural Life Mass on Feast of Ss. Isidore and Maria

Fort Atkinson to host National Eucharistic Congress speaker
On Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m., St. Joseph Parish, at 1660 Endl Blvd, Fort Atkinson, will host Immaculée Ilibagiza. She is a renowned Rwandan genocide survivor, faithful Catholic, and keynote speaker at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis this July.
The life of St. Joan of Arc
The Church celebrates the optional memorial of St. Joan of Arc on May 30, the day in 1431 when she was burned at the stake in Rouen, France, as a heretic and a witch.
Summer organ recital series in Madison
The Diocese of Madison is again hosting an organ recital series during the summer months. They will be in the oratory at Holy Name Heights in Madison, 702 S. High Point Rd. All recitals, on the Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, (Op. 1204) will start at 7:30 p.m.
