ASHTON — St. Peter Parish in Ashton is a drop-off center spot for the Cross Catholic Outreach Box of Joy program the week of November 4 through November 12.
The drop-off center hours at St. Peter will be: November 4 (6:30-7:30 p.m.), November 11 (2-4 p.m.), and November 12 (10 a.m.-12 noon). Boxes will be collected in the church gathering room, 7121 CR K, Middleton 53562. A team of volunteers will be there to greet people.
“It is wonderful to be with you. It’s one of the best days of the year for me,” said Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison. “I love our Catholic schools. So much good can happen there as you come closer to Jesus.”
MILWAUKEE — On Tuesday, Oct. 31, the Roman Catholic bishops of Wisconsin will join with the bishops of Wisconsin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) at a service commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. The joint service will be one of reconciliation and witness, focusing on 50 years of sustained and fruitful Lutheran-Catholic dialogue.
Archbishop Jerome Listecki of Milwaukee, Bishops Robert Morlino of Madison, David Ricken of Green Bay, William Callahan of La Crosse, and Auxiliary Bishops Jeffrey Haines, James Schuerman, and Emeritus Richard Sklba, all of Milwaukee, and the Very Reverend James Tobloski, representing Bishop James Powers of Superior, will lead the service.
PORTAGE — St. Mary School in Portage is hosting a Trivia Night on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the school, 315 W. Cook St. Doors open at 6 p.m. with trivia starting at 7 p.m.

MONONA — Imagine you’re a student on the playground during recess. Maybe you’re new to school, having a bad day, or haven’t had any luck making friends.
For kids that fit any of those descriptions at Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) School in Monona, they now have a way to make some new friends.
It’s called the Buddy Bench.
“This is more than a shelter. This is more than a hangout. This is where people come so that we can help them remove obstacles, get connected to services, and get out of homelessness,” said Jackson Fonder, president and CEO of Catholic Charities Madison.
