BARABOO — In cooperation with “America Needs Fatima,” a Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will visit Durward’s Glen Retreat Center on Tuesday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
A team of custodians travels all over the country with a 48-inch replica of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
The original Pilgrim Virgin statue was made in 1947 under the direction of Sr. Lucia dos Santos, the oldest of the seers to whom Our Lady appeared.

How good it is for us to be here!
I’m hopeful that this sentiment was experienced at your own parishes this past Transfiguration Sunday.
I said it wholeheartedly as I offered the Mass and indeed, we should pray for the faith to proclaim, each and every blessed day, and especially when we stand at the foot of the altar, awaiting the Risen Lord, “How good it is for us to be here!”
The opening prayer of this past Sunday’s Mass tells us what the Transfiguration is all about. It says:
“O God, who have commanded us to listen to your beloved Son, be pleased, we pray, to nourish us inwardly by your word, that, with spiritual sight made pure, we may rejoice to behold your glory.”
MADISON — Students from St. Ambrose Academy, Madison, are diligently working on their choreography, songs, and lines for their upcoming production of Hello, Dolly!
Performances of the musical will be held Friday, March 31; Saturday, April 1; and Sunday, April 2; at the Verona High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Richard St., Verona.
With a history of crowd pleasing and TOMMY award-winning performances such as The Sound of Music, The Music Man, and Beauty and the Beast, students are planning on another successful musical.
MADISON — On Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m., His Excellency Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino will celebrate a Pontifical Mass at the Throne (Extraordinary Form) in the chapel of the Holy Name Heights in Madison (Bishop O’Connor Center), 702 S. High Point Rd.
Holy Mass will be celebrated in honor of the Feast of St. Joseph, foster father of the Lord, husband of Mary, patron of the Church, of the dying, of fathers, and of immigrants.
The music will be Gregorian Chant and polyphonic motets.

Marriage in the eyes of God is between a man and a woman. This traditional idea of marriage and family needs attention and serious prayer.
St. Louis de Montfort stated in The Secret of the Rosary that, “Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Ghost, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”

Dear Friends,
The readings for the first Sunday of Lent give all of us a general principle for evaluating our own lives and determining areas for growth during the holy Lenten season.
The First Reading reminds us of Satan’s successful deception of Adam and Eve, convincing them that pride, that is, disobedience of God, will enable them to be like God.
In fact, Adam and Eve are left in the Garden for the first time experiencing shame as they learn the hard way that the wages of sin never amounts to being like God, but rather the wages of sin is death.
The Second Reading makes clear that disobedience and death really are the very same choice.
Disobedience and that assertion that “I know better than God!” leads me to place God and Heaven at a lower priority in my own life. Once this happens, it becomes progressively easier to make my goal something less-than-God, something less-than-Heaven.
But God and Heaven alone are the fullness of life, and ultimately to choose what is less-than-God or -Heaven as my top priority is to choose death.
