Sauk Council of Catholic Women invites women to pray, learn, socialize

BARABOO — “Evangelization — Spreading the Good News” is the theme of the Sauk Vicariate Council of Catholic Women (CCW) fall meeting Tuesday morning to early afternoon, Oct. 9, at St. Joseph Church here.

Thomas Fogarty, deacon at Holy Angels Parish (merger of St. Boniface/St. Patrick/Holy Family Parishes), La Valle, will share his story of becoming an ordained deacon. “The road revealed God’s powerful love through many interactions along the way,” said Deacon Fogarty, who will speak at 10 a.m., before the Mass at 11 a.m.

Caregiver Boot Camp scheduled in Janesville

JANESVILLE — The Aging & Disability Resource Center will host a free Rock County Caregiver Boot Camp on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Job Center, 1900 Center Ave.

Cori Marsh, dementia care specialist at the Aging & Disability Center, and Bonnie Nuttkinson, program and advocacy manager of the South Central Wisconsin Chapter-Alzheimer’s Association, will provide education and support for families coping with memory loss of a loved one.

MADISON — On Sunday, Oct. 7, which is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Catholics in Madison will be praying the Rosary on the steps of the state Capitol building (facing State St.), as part of the Rosary Coast to Coast initiative.

Madison Catholic Woman’s Club holds Day of Christian Renewal

MADISON — The Madison Catholic Woman’s Club (MCWC) invites all women of the Diocese of Madison and their guests to join in a Day of Christian Renewal on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at St. Maria Goretti Church Parish Hall, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison.

Shirley Kelter, Catholic chaplain at UW Health University Hospital, will be the featured speaker. In her role as chaplain, she has become a listener, a comforter, a connection to the sacred, and mostly a caring presence in many people’s lives.

DANE — Married couples are invited to an evening of fun and romance designed to celebrate their relationship by reminiscing about the early stages of their romance.

Couples will be served a full course romantic candlelight dinner for two. In between courses, the evening’s host and hostess will lead couples on their personal journey down memory lane.
