A mother was returning from an ice-skating competition with her 14-year-old daughter in their car.  As a mother of a former figure skating (who’s now a coach), I can imagine the two of them chatting about the competition: how well the skaters did, whether they should have placed better, what they could improve on the next time.

On May 3, unknown to the parishioners receiving the Eucharist at St. Patrick Church, Madison, protesters quietly gathered to surprise them when the doors opened after the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. Inside, parishioners celebrated their unity in the Eucharist, in the Mystical Body of Christ, and in their Catholic belief.

Continue to exert pressure against late-term abortions

To the editor:

The battle against late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center continues even after their February vote to proceed with plans to brutally dismember babies between 19 to 22 weeks of age. Our publicly-funded, flagship University of Wisconsin-Madison has put its stamp of approval on this atrocity. This decision “mainstreams” late-term abortions — offering them in the same state-of-the-art clinic where people receive a variety of medical treatments.
