MADISON — Donald J. Heiar, age 85, father of Msgr. Donn Heiar, Jr.,pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Madison, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, surrounded by his family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob; his sister, Rita, and his son, Russell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 1, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee. The celebrant and homilist of the Mass was Monsignor Heiar. Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the start of Mass. Burial will be in St. Bernard Parish Cemetery, Middleton, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Multicultural Center, 1862 Beld St., Madison, WI 53713, or to St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Waunakee.
