Edgewood High School auction

On March 24, 2011November 13, 2024
--

MADISON — The 25th annual Edgewood High School (EHS) spring auction and social, “Under the Big Top,” will be on Friday, April 8, from 6 to 10:30 p.m., at the high school’s commons and Earl J. Wilke Gymnasium, 2219 Monroe St.

A 2010-11 Green Bay Packers signed football and behind the scenes tour, a two-week VIP European Cruise, a $2,500 item from BR Diamond Suite, two tickets to the 2012 NCAA Final Four, and an iPad 2 are all up for bid at the auction. EHS volunteers hope to raise $150,000 in aid for students with financial needs.

“Under the Big Top” will include a strolling dinner with beer, wine, and soda included. The cash or credit raffle allows the winner to choose a prize of either $5,000 in cash or a $7,500 tuition credit.

Circus-themed games include the “Wine and Dine Ring Toss,” the “Duck Pond Raffle,” and the fortuneteller’s booth.

Endres Manufacturing has generously offered a chance to make donated dollars go further with an overbid match. The EHS Jazz Ensemble will provide musical entertainment.

The early registration cost to attend the auction and social is $60, if registered by Friday, March 25. Registration after March 25 costs $70. Cash or credit raffle tickets are $50 each. To purchase a raffle ticket or to register to attend, go to www.edgewoodhs.org and click on the “Auction” link, or contact Brie Russell, director of fundraising special events, at 608-257-1023, ext. 133, or e-mail [email protected]

Currently, 42 percent of EHS students receive financial aid totaling over $600,000. Edgewood is committed to increasing financial aid to keep its values-based, Dominican Catholic high school education affordable to as many Madison and Dane County families as possible. In the last five years, the amount of financial aid dollars given by EHS has increased by 30 percent.

EHS is a 650-student, Catholic high school that educates the whole student for a life of learning, service, and personal responsibility. Edgewood’s rigorous curriculum is based in truth, compassion, justice, partnership, and community. Virtually 100 percent of EHS students graduate and over 95 percent go on to post-secondary education.
