MADISON — Edgewood College welcomes author Alice Goffman as the speaker for the fourth annual Heffernan Lecture.
Ms. Goffman’s groundbreaking nonfiction debut, On the Run, brings us into the lives of young African-American men living as suspects and fugitives in a Philadelphia community torn apart by poverty and crime. She currently serves as assistant professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The lecture takes place Thursday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., in Anderson Auditorium, 1000 Edgewood College Dr. There is no admission fee, and the public is invited. Seating is limited.
