BERLIN — On August 7, a dream came closer to reality as ground was broken for a new building project at All Saints Parish in Berlin.

With a hopeful completion date of next year, construction will formally begin on the All Saints Regional Catholic School and Religious Education Center at the end of this month.

Bishop Donald J. Hying celebrated Mass at the church on that day and also presided over a blessing of the grounds.

Pastor Fr. John Silva and Parochial Administrator Fr. Tony Thirumalareddy concelebrated.

“For over 170 years, there has been a Catholic presence in Berlin and it brings me great excitement and joy to share a wonderful opportunity to serve and anticipate the future needs of the Catholic community,” said Jana Dahms, All Saints School principal, in a Catholic Herald article before the groundbreaking.

Currently, All Saints School is the last remaining Catholic school option in Green Lake, Marquette, and Waushara Counties.

With the new location, busing options will be available from Ripon and Green Lake School districts. Those who are interested in supporting All Saints Regional Catholic School and Religious Education Center are encouraged to reach out to the parish or school and make a pledge.
