Knights of Columbus raise funds for ultrasound machine

On February 8, 2012February 14, 2025
--

BELOIT — The Knights of Columbus Council 605 serving the communities of Beloit and Clinton and the Knights of Columbus Council 8021 serving the communities of South Beloit, Rockton, and Roscoe, Ill., announce that they have joined together to raise funds for an updated ultrasound machine for the Stateline Pregnancy Clinic in Beloit.

Through this initiative, the two councils will raise one half of the funds needed for this machine and the other half will be matched by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council. The local contacts Steve Schmalz for Council 605 at 608-362-7172 and Scott Tenney for Council 8021 at 815-624-2556.

Donations can be made by anyone who wishes to support this initiative. If someone wishes to donate directly to this project, they may do so by check payable to the Knights of Columbus. Please note on the memo line, Ultrasound Initiative SPC. All funds raised must be collected and held by the local council in order to receive the matching funds.

The mailing address for any donation is: Knights of Columbus Council 605, c/o Tim Taylor, Treasurer, 1330 Forest Ave., Beloit, WI 53511.

Many employers offer matching grants for employees who donate to projects such as this. This would be a great way to increase your donation.

To kick off the fundraising efforts, the councils will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 19, at St. Jude Parish Hall in Beloit from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The cost of the breakfast will be a free will donation, with all proceeds going towards the cost of the machine.
