Mass schedules change at Lafayette County parishes

On July 26, 2012July 10, 2025
--

MADISON — Parishes in Lafayette County have been realigned due to the priest shortage. Parishioners have been adjusting to the new Mass schedules.

“While this has been an inconvenience, it has not been a crisis of faith,” said Fr. Randy Budnar, pastor of the five parishes. “The Catholics of Lafayette County have learned from the land. Good years and bad years come and go, but God and his Church are here to stay.”

Father Budnar, while continuing as pastor at Holy Rosary Parish in Darlington, will also be serving parishioners in Calamine, Elk Grove, Seymour, and Truman.

Masses will be celebrated at 8 a.m. on:

  • the first Sunday of the month at St. Peter in Elk Grove,
  • second Sunday at Our Lady of Hope in Seymour,
  • third Sunday at St. Michael in Calamine,
  • fourth Sunday at Immaculate Conception in Truman,
  • and the fifth Sunday at Holy Rosary in Darlington.

Masses will be celebrated every weekend at Holy Rosary, Darlington, on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Mass is also celebrated at Holy Rosary, Darlington, weekdays:

  • Tuesday, 4:30 p.m.,
  • Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.
  • and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.,

and Friday at Lafayette Manor at 10:30 a.m.
