Sister Marie Andrew Taylor, OP, dies

SINSINAWA — Sr. Marie Andrew Taylor, OP, died March 8, 2012, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. The funeral Mass was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa March 15, 2012, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

Sister Marie Andrew made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 5, 1946, and her final profession Aug. 5, 1949. She taught for seven years and ministered as a business officer for 38 years. She served in Wisconsin; Illinois; and Florence, Italy.

In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Marie Andrew served in the Business Office at Edgewood High School, Madison, 1958-1960.

Sister Marie Andrew was born March 21, 1912, in Canton, Ill., the daughter of Clifford and Alice (McMahon) Taylor. Her parents; a sister, Lillian Freeman; and a brother, John Taylor, preceded her in death. She is survived by nieces and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 65 years.
