The Diocese of Madison has announced the merger of a new parish — Stella Maris — as of May 31.
This unites the church communities of Christ the King Parish in McFarland, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Monona, and St. Patrick Parish in Cottage Grove.
Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Monona is also part of the parish.
Fr. Chad Droessler will serve as parochial administrator until July 1 when he will be succeeded by Fr. Eric Sternberg. Father Sternberg will be installed as pastor at a later date.
Fr. Mark Foley and Fr. William Van Wagner will serve as parochial vicars.
Deacon Jeffery Bond will serve the parish as deacon.
