Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery to pause sales

Storefront to move to stone building at Sinsinawa Mound

SINSINAWA — The Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa are in the process of downsizing their building space usage at Sinsinawa Mound.

The building that houses the Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery is in negotiations to transfer ownership from Sinsinawa Dominicans, Inc., to Tricon Construction Group, and Tricon plans to develop a senior living community and event center at the Mound.

After Thursday, Feb. 29, the Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery will pause both in-store and online sales until a new storefront is created in the Stone Building in 2025.

Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery will remain open for business at its current location and online Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the remainder of February, and most products are being offered at deeply discounted prices to help reduce inventory.

“As a congregation, we’re working diligently on right-sizing our space usage at Sinsinawa,” said Sr. Christina Heltsley, OP, prioress of the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa.

“The move of Sinsinawa Book & Gift Gallery to Stone Building at Sinsinawa Mound will reduce our carbon footprint and help us live out our call to care for creation.”
