New thrift store opening in Verona

On July 21, 2011December 11, 2024
--

VERONA — The Society of St. Vincent de Paul recently purchased the former John Erickson Chevrolet dealership in Verona. The society plans to remodel what was showroom and service space and — by mid-September — open Dane County’s sixth St. Vincent de Paul thrift store.

St. Vincent de Paul uses the net revenues from its thrift stores, which sell donated goods, to fund the society’s mission of helping people in need.

To help stock the new Verona store, St. Vincent de Paul is accepting donations of clean and gently used clothing, bedding, furniture, small appliances, and other household goods at the new location, 513 Verona Ave.

Until the store opens, the donation site at the Verona location will be staffed from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Donations will be accepted near the rear of the property. Donors may also call 608-278-2920 during business hours to request a free home pick-up.
