St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe began livestreaming a five-week series entitled “Questioning Prayer” on Thursday, July 16, and it runs through Thursday, Aug. 13. The series, led by Parochial Vicar Fr. Tim Mergen, focuses on how to grow a deeper interior prayer life. The series begins at 5:15 p.m. every Thursday. The talks last about 45 minutes and are followed by a short period for prayer. St. Rose helps men’s shelter
CUBA CITY — The St. Rose of Lima School Family in Cuba City raised money and made blankets for the Almost Home Men’s Shelter in Dubuque, Iowa.
Clare from Clare Cares in Dubuque started Operation Warm Toes- Grateful Hearts for Christmas for the 12 men staying there. She reached out to different organizations to help her. St. Rose was happy to be of help for this great cause.

Fr. Mike Klarer will celebrate 35th anniversary
MONROE — Fr. Mike Klarer, pastor emeritus of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Monroe, will celebrate the 35th anniversary of his ordination on Sunday, June 15, at St. Victor Church, Monroe, with a 3 p.m. liturgy. All are invited to the celebration.
Father Klarer will be the celebrant of the Mass with concelebrants Fr. Larry Bakke, pastor of St. Clare of Assisi Parish and director of the Apostolate to the Handicapped, Diocese of Madison; Msgr. ‘Living Last Supper’ visits area churches
Several Catholic parishes of southwestern Wisconsin will host the annual “Living Last Supper” performance at multiple parishes between March 29 and April 13.
Pro-Life from a biomedical perspective
MONROE — When does life begin? Did you ever wish that you could ask a physician about this, but were unsure of what he/she would say? Would they tell you the truth, or would they tell you their “belief”?
The Diocese of Madison has a current seminarian — Clint Olson — who is also medical doctor. He will give two talks on the truth of when life begins from a medical perspective to members of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe and any interested Catholics in the diocese. His talk — “Pro-Life from a Biomedical Perspective” — is geared toward teens and adults and will be presented twice: once on Wednesday, July 17, and again on Wednesday, July 24. Both talks will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at St. Victor Church in Monroe.
