Chancellor William Yallaly accepts national position with the Knights of Columbus

MADISON — After serving the Diocese of Madison in numerous and ever-evolving roles since 2007, William Yallaly, Chancellor of the Diocese of Madison, will be moving on to take the position of vice president and senior advisor for strategic initiatives for the Knights of Columbus, starting December 1.

Yallaly came to the Diocese of Madison in 2007, when he was appointed assistant to the bishop and associate director of communications.

He then went on to serve as executive advisor to the bishop, before being named chancellor in 2015.

State Knights congratulate grant recipients

MADISON — The Wisconsin Knights of Columbus thanks all the Madison area recipients of the grants, distributed on October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, for applying for the 2020 State Culture of Life Grant Fund.

The Knights consider it an honor to participate in this way in the life-affirming work of the worthy recipients.

Working together, the Wisconsin Knights of Columbus raised more than $105,000 to provide grants to numerous pro-life agencies throughout the state to help fulfill our shared mission — cultivating a culture of life.

Three Catholic schools enjoy trip to Gettysburg, Washington, D.C.

On Sunday, May 5, students from Watertown Catholic, Blessed Sacrament School in Madison, and St. Jerome School in Columbus boarded a bus bound for a five-day trip to Gettysburg, Pa., and Washington, D.C.

It was an adventure of a lifetime, and a great way to cap an almost 10-year career for some students at our schools.

St. Jerome School plans annual Gala

COLUMBUS — “Welcome to Paradise” is the theme of the third annual St. Jerome School Gala to be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, in the school gymnasium at 1550 Farnham St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The evening features a catered Caribbean buffet, open bar (beer, wine, and tropical coolers), and live music by Bahama Bob’s Island Music. Event tickets are $40 each or two for $75. There will also be a raffle (with five travel prizes), sweet deals, silent auctions, and mystery boxes. Gala raffle tickets are $50 each with the grand prize valued at $5,000.

Knights of Columbus host Wild Game Dinner in Beloit

BELOIT — Knights of Columbus Council 605, serving the Beloit/Clinton cluster parishes, will host its annual Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 939 Liberty Ave. in Beloit.

Dinner tickets are a $15 donation each and raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 with a $200 first prize. Dinner and raffle tickets are available from any KC member or by calling Roy Nelson at 608-365-7919.

This program has become one of the keys to students’ success.
