Unity as part of the Catholic Church
Unity is one of the four marks of the Church, which is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic.
This unity finds its source in Christ, who, during the Last Supper, prayed that His followers would always be united.
Mountains of melo-trauma
I could spend an entire year’s worth of columns trying to share the volume of information floating in cyberspace (and piled on brick-and-mortar bookshelves) about trauma.
Sticking with my chosen metaphor, it’s like that giant snow bank at the end of your driveway as December draws to a close, and before any January thaw comes to the rescue.

Welcoming the Holy Spirit
As we approach Pentecost and the conclusion of the Easter season, we rejoice in the sending of the Holy Spirit upon the Church and upon us. The Third Person of the Blessed Trinity anoints us with the very power and grace of God.
Building sandcastles of our hearts: Stay close to Our Lord’s ocean of love, mercy
When I was a little girl, my family sometimes went to the beach on Lake Michigan.
I remember sitting at the water’s edge, building sandcastles.
