As the state opens up, and I look around seeing bigger gatherings, I am tempted to join in. Staying physically apart is difficult even when the science is there to tell me it is important. It’s human nature that I don’t like someone telling me what to do, especially if it’s extra work in a difficult situation.
On Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m., the Cathedral Parish will be hosting Theology on Tap focusing on mental health.
Following is information on additional livestreaming Masses offered by parishes in the Diocese of Madison.
St. Ann Parish in Stoughton will have a recorded Memorial Day Mass that will be shown on Monday, May, 25. It can be seen on the St. Ann Parish YouTube channel called “St. Ann Catholic Parish, Stoughton” or the parish Facebook page called “St. Ann Catholic Parish, Stoughton”.

A recent letter writer to this newspaper (04/30/20) asked the question, “Do we think that COVID-19 virus is going away soon?” And though I agree with him that it is not, I do disagree with his view that we should have been more concerned about the economy.
Given the recent announcement that the Tommy Bartlett Show has been forced to cancel its 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Apostolate must cancel our annual Day at the Dells event scheduled for August 21, 2020.
Many people are asking for ways to help as COVID-19 continues to affect the community on a daily basis. Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish’s Social Action & Community Enrichment Board teamed up with the St. Vincent de Paul conference to find a creative way to help neighbors in need.

One silver lining for me during this weird coronavirus shutdown has been the opportunity to return to some writing projects that I had left on the back-burner.
One of these is a book on the Nicene Creed, which I had commenced many months ago and on which I was making only very slow progress, given my various pastoral and administrative responsibilities.
The last several weeks, I have been working in a rather concentrated way on the Creed book, and I find myself currently in the midst of the section on the Church: “I believe in one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church.”
