DEFOREST/EAST BRISTOL — St. Olaf Parish in DeForest and St. Joseph Parish in East Bristol are planning an Advent parish mission.

DEFOREST — St. Olaf Parish is hosting a Lenten mission, “At the Foot of the Cross with Mary,” from Friday, March 10, to Monday, March 13.
On Friday at 6:30 p.m., the parish will offer a virtual pilgrimage to the sanctuaries of Lourdes, France. Participants will immerse themselves in the Gospel Message of Lourdes as given by Our Lady to St. Bernadette. Come touch the grotto rock and experience the healing grace of Lourdes water.
The faith formation students at St. Olaf Parish in DeForest participated in “Operation Shoebox–Madison” for the first time in December.
DEFOREST — There will be an adult night of Advent reflection Monday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. at St. Olaf Church, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest.
The Parish and Community Life Commission has planned a quiet evening of reflection to begin the Advent season. All parishioners and their guests are invited to “prepare the way.”
Marie Lins from the Diocese of Madison Office of Evangelization and Catechesis will be the guest speaker.
Fr. Gary Wankerl, a priest of the Diocese of Madison, has presented a portrait of Pope Francis he painted recently to Bishop Robert C. Morlino and the diocese.
DEFOREST — When the lights go down and the music starts pumping during the opening ceremonies of the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Indianapolis this month, two DeForest area students will be among the dancers and singers on stage charged with firing up the crowd for the three-day conference.
Megan Durst and Katherine Kennedy, juniors at DeForest Area High School and members of St. Olaf Parish, will serve as NCYC “animators.” About 75 youth from across the country were selected as animators to lead the prayer services and set the tone for the conference.
