In last week’s column, I meditated on the surrender of Mary and Jesus in the key moments of the Annunciation and the Agony in the Garden.
We all know the difficulty of handing over our wills to the Lord.
We want to be in control, have a clear idea of how events should unfold, and we often think God is letting us down when we face disappointment, tragedy, and suffering.
How do we find peace amidst the storm and trust in the middle of life’s chaos?
BARABOO — The highly acclaimed movie God’s Not Dead will be showing at the historic Al Ringling Theatre, 136 4th Ave., on the square in downtown Baraboo, on Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m.
It is being sponsored by the SALT (Salt and Light Together) Ministry of St. Joseph Parish in Baraboo and is open to the public.

Ridley Scott’s new film Exodus: Gods and Kings features Moses, the Pharaoh, hundreds of thousands of slaves making their way across the floor of the Red Sea, all 10 plagues, the burning bush, and even the angel of Yahweh in the form of a petulant 11-year-old boy with a British accent.
And yet, the movie is spiritually flat, as though its makers had read the biblical story but understood precious little of its theological poetry.
