We have just passed the six-month point since Into the Deep started. I am grateful and pleased for the generous spirit, hard work, and sacrificial generosity exhibited by so many during the initial phase of the implementation of this ambitious strategic plan.

Phase 1 of Into the Deep saw the formation of pastorates — groupings of parishes under the leadership of a single pastor or parochial administrator. The next step in the process is merging the individual parishes in each pastorate into a single, canonical parish.

On July 1, every parish in the Diocese of Madison will be joining one of 30 new “pastorates,” or a grouping of parishes under the leadership of a single pastor or administrator, with other priests serving alongside him as parochial vicars as part of the Into the Deep strategic planning process.
