Apostolate to the Handicapped shares Christmas spirit with disabled, elderly
“This is so cool!” said first-time guest Denise Horn.
The Janesville resident had attended the Diocese of Madison’s Apostolate to the Handicapped Day at the Dells — featuring Mass, lunch, and the Tommy Bartlett Water Show — numerous times in the past, but she had never attended the annual Advent/Christmas Party before.

Solemn Mass for Feast of Immaculate Conception
MADISON — A special Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will be celebrated at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Center, 702 S. High Point Rd., on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m., in the presence of Bishop Robert C. Morlino.
December 8 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and a Holy Day of Obligation.
A Solemn Mass includes the service also of a deacon and subdeacon.
Lecture focuses on music and beauty of Mass

TV Mass marks fifth anniversary of Monsignor Campion’s death
MADISON — The weekly Mass airing on WISC-TV on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 7 a.m. will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the death of Msgr. Thomas Campion.
Monsignor Campion was the founding director of the Apostolate to the Handicapped of the Diocese of Madison in 1967. He served as the director until he died on November 12, 2010.
Msgr. Larry Bakke, the current apostolate director, will preside at the TV Mass, which will include many persons involved with the apostolate over the years.
Pastor invites people to wear colorful apparel for school’s gala event
PRINCETON — Pastor Fr. Dale Grubba is planning a Hawaiian shirt/apparel weekend October 3 and 4 to go with the annual St. John Catholic School Gala. Parishioners and visitors are invited to wear Hawaiian apparel to Masses at St. James Church in Neshkoro and St. John Church in Princeton.
The Gala takes place on Saturday, Oct. 3, in St John Catholic School gym, 125 Church St. Dinner reservations may be made by contacting Alyssa Cattanach at 920-295-4275 or Mary Soda at 920-295-3078.

The last question is the easiest to answer. It is because the celebrant of the Mass wears red vestments and long ago, some of the royal judges also had red vestments.
What is a Red Mass?
But what is a Red Mass? It is a Mass, usually celebrated as the new judicial term begins, to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance for all those engaged in the justice and legal systems.
