Science supports pro-life cause

Being pro-life is not in opposition to science, as some people may think. It is quite the opposite, in fact.

That’s what organizers of the annual March for Life being held in Washington, D.C., assert on their website (https://marchforlife.org) in discussing the theme of this year’s event, “Unique from Day One.”

Bishop Morlino has set a great example for us to continue pro-life work

To the editor:

More than 20 years ago, my new friend at our parish would take time to explain the Catholic Church’s teachings on pro-life to me. That led to meeting the pro-life prayer warriors outside the Madison Abortion Clinic across from St. Raphael Cathedral in Madison.

We were rejecting the politically correct mantra that promiscuity, contraception, and abortion are good for us. We were praying and witnessing for God’s plan for marriage and family.

Why would you take a day to learn about life issues and stand in Chicago’s Federal Plaza listening to speakers like Pat McCaskey, co-owner of the Chicago Bears? What can he tell you about valuing life? Do you feel you have heard the pro-life message and not much more can be said?

Blessed Sacrament Parish hosts pro-life speaker

MADISON — When I was at a Chicago parish, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mary FioRito, who headed up all the pro-life activities of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Mary is an accomplished speaker, lawyer, and writer, and she has a big heart. Mary possess the unique ability to reach out to women who are hurting after an abortion, as well as to take on a difficult debate with kindness and compassion.

Parishioners take action to tell legislators they are pro-life

SAUK CITY — Parishioners, including students of all ages, from Divine Mercy Parish in Sauk City have started a project of writing letters to state and federal law makers to let government officials know they believe abortion is wrong.

Julie Keith, Divine Mercy’s pro-life coordinator, headed up the project last fall and began asking for letters to be written in time for the landmark Roe v. Wade 44th anniversary in January.

Norma McCorvey proves that conversion is possible

Many people probably aren’t aware of the identity of Jane Roe in the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion.

Her real name was Norma McCorvey. Interestingly enough, she never had an abortion and later regretted her part in that decision. In fact, she worked for its overturn.

Pro-lifers rally to defund Planned Parenthood

Gwen Finnegan

Amidst chants of “‘pro-life, it’s a lie — they don’t care if women die”‘ from a group of counter protesters organized by the International Socialist Organization out of Madison, about 60 pro-lifers from the Diocese of Madison gathered together for a Defund Planned Parenthood Rally on Saturday, Feb. 11.

The rally held outside the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Madison was organized by Vigil for Life-Madison.

There is hope for the pro-life movement

Recently I greeted a young pregnant mother by saying, “Hi to both of you.” Her smile told me that she acknowledged she was carrying an unborn baby, not just a glob of tissue.

Weeks later I met her proud husband, their beautiful baby boy, and the baby’s admiring little big sister.
