Why do I make Rosaries, and what does the Rosary mean to me?
The short answer is that I have discovered that the Rosary is one of the most powerful ways that we can tap into the power of God, and I look for ways to share this discovery with others.

BARABOO — On December 10, 1925, Our Blessed Mother appeared to Lucia at Pentevedra, Spain.
She said, “I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the first Saturday of five successive months, go to Confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary.”

For several weeks now, I have been reporting on various aspects of Vigil for Life and the now ongoing 40 Days for Life vigil to end abortion.
So often when I attend various events to write about them, I ask myself if I’m really doing enough. Does my job as reporter for the Catholic Herald give me a “free pass” from getting more involved in the efforts I write about? Is just telling people about it enough?
If I was going to try to convince other people to pray at 40 Days for Life, shouldn’t I do the same? I did, and so can you.
Eucharistic Rosary Rally for Peace and the Family
MILWAUKEE — “Hearts United 2013,” a Eucharistic Rosary Rally for Peace and the Family, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Wisconsin Exposition Center, located on the corner of 84th St. and Greenfield Ave. in West Allis.
Everyone is welcome, including youth and young adults, men and women, single and married. Bring the entire family.

As I write this column, we are coming quickly upon the Fourth of July, when we as a nation celebrate our independence and freedom. It is this freedom which has provided tremendous room for our flourishing as a human race and as a nation, but it is a delicate freedom, built upon the presupposition that we as a nation will choose to exercise our freedom in a way that moves forward toward what is best.
