Follow-up on Lacey’s Law

On June 11, 2009
Steve Meinel, Schofield
To the editor:
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement for my daughter Lacey. We miss her every hour of every day. The sadness we feel cannot be put into words.
We did meet with the governor but time will tell if they feel it’s important to protect people from drunk driving or not. It appears that the politicians still don’t feel they need to make drunk driving a crime, and the proposed budget actually provides for early release for convicted drivers.
We continue to hope that organizations and individual groups of people can continue to voice their concerns to their representatives in Madison so they can understand that this is a time to act, not just talk about change. Thank you again.
Steve Meinel, Schofield
