‘Ultimate solution’ today is aimed at elderly, infirm

On April 7, 2010
Jacek M. Cianciara, Madison

To the editor:

The abortion issue is only one part of a complex Culture of Death equation masterminded by liberal minds and aimed at putting “mother earth” ahead of man, created in the image and likeness of God. So the news about the latest battle for government-run health care would imply.

A broader scrutiny reveals, however, that there is another part of this equation, possibly even more despicable than abortion, a discussion which was unfortunately missed in the health care debate. It is aimed at building a foundation for the “ultimate solution.”

The “ultimate solution” at this time is not aimed at the Jews, as during the Third Reich, but is aimed at the elderly and infirm population in the United States. The end-of-life counseling sessions will become “death panels” by mandating limitations and withdrawing necessary medical care and, in consequence, expediting death of the elderly and infirm.

In effect, this second stage of the Culture of Death equation by rationing healthcare will reduce the number of handicapped individuals, elderly, and infirm men and women with the goal of reducing the population and consumption of limited resources.

Already in England, for example, government bureaucrats evaluate a person’s eligibility for health care using the “quality-adjusted life year” or QALY index system. Our own Dan Brock, the director of the Division of Medical Ethics at the Harvard Medical School, in a paper entitled “Cost-Effectiveness and Disability Discrimination” stated that “prioritizing health care resources by their relative cost-effectiveness can result in lower priority for the treatment of disabled persons than otherwise similar non-disabled persons.”

Hence, this “cost effective solution” hidden within a complex Culture of Death equation will, in effect, decrease the resource demand and financial strain that elderly and infirm impose on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare and reduce the cost of medical care to those who remain. And that is The Ultimate Plan.
