Mary Uhler and Monica Simpson fail to understand that the cities today with the strictest gun control (Chicago and Washington, D.C.) have the highest rate of crime. Wyatt Earp displayed, in the city of Tombstone, Ariz., “No guns allowed within city limits”. He and his family reaped grave consequences for enforcing those restrictions.
The right to bear arms is rooted in the Constitution for a reason. We the people must be protected from government tyranny. Legal gun use has to be the peoples’ protection. Gun restriction laws are simply ignored by those who intend to break the law.
All defense of the abortion lobby, as the latest writer says, is grounded in “women” will be sent “to their deaths in the back alley”. She says the “reality” of abortion is in “the struggles of post abortive women and men” which are “mocked and swept under the carpet”.
There is no justification for abortion in the U.S. Constitution. It was not legislated. There was no referendum. The activist judges on the Supreme Court took it upon themselves to make the law. Roe v. Wade was reversed by the Republican legislature three times when Bill Clinton was president. He vetoed the bill three times.
Since then, Republicans in the Senate have always been less than the two thirds needed to pass the same legislation. To this day, after more than 40 years, there has been no law requiring federal inspections of Planned Parenthoods where most abortions are done.
When some have been closed, it has been because of complaints and lawsuits against them. Others continue to be funded by various federal and state programs, one being Obamacare. Abortion deaths are three thousand per day.
Women’s lives, one would think, are equal to babies’ lives. Both need equal protection by citizens in and out of law enforcement and security. The writer, Monica, (rightly) says, “lives are at stake in abortion”.
She also said, (rightly), that “lives are at stake in gun CONTROL,” not ownership.
