Opportunities for adults to learn more about faith

MADISON — As the 2016-17 school year kicks off, the Diocese of Madison has new opportunities for adults to learn in the Seat of Wisdom Diocesan Institute (SWDI).

The SWDI is a program offered by the Diocese of Madison to give interested adults an opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith in a systematic and comprehensive manner. It is an opportunity to study the basic pillars of the faith along with other in-depth theological studies.

Beginning this month, there is a new schedule of courses available at the Holy Name Heights along with coursework available in various locations around the diocese.

Advice to students, new and old

Last week I offered some remarks at the matriculation ceremony for Thomas Aquinas College in California. Since I would give the same advice to any Catholic students reentering the school year, I thought I would share my thoughts here.

It was late at night, I had flown in from Chicago and driven up the California highway, and I thought, “Oh, this talk is going to bomb.”

A dream becomes a reality

Attending the Mass of Dedication of the new St. Cecilia Church in Wisconsin Dells was a very emotional experience for me and my husband.
