MONONA — “They’re going to get a whole lot of Jesus, and that’s a good thing,” said Callie Meiller, principal of Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) School in Monona.
She spoke on the new all-year round, full-time early childhood program starting at the school this fall.
It will be open to children ages three to five.
Norma, who came to the United States with her family in 2011, talked with KSAT 12 News, an ABC affiliate in San Antonio, Texas, on June 24 about why she immigrated to the United States.
She hoped that by telling her story, more people will understand why some risk everything for life in the United States.

GREEN BAY — The Catholic Herald-Diocese of Madison won three awards in the 2018 Catholic Press Awards announced June 15 at the annual Catholic Media Conference held in Green Bay.
This year, the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada established an Excellence Awards division. In the Newspaper of the Year category, the Catholic Herald-Diocese of Madison received an Honorable Mention, putting it among the top five papers in its circulation category.Deacons Peter Lee, Drew Olson, and Grant Thies will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Robert C. Adam Hamilton tells a story about a camping trip he took with his two young daughters. The trip coincided with his birthday.
He explained to his two daughters that each could have 20 dollars each to spend during the three days they were camping there. The two girls were so excited that they practically dragged their dad to the gift shop just outside the camp.
