The Xavier Mission team, named after St. Francis Xavier, is a new evangelization initiative serving middle and high school youth in our diocese.
At the heart of the work of the Xavier Mission Team is relationship with Christ, his Church, and others.
Currently, there are six young adults that are part of this team, doing missionary work, living in community, and giving of themselves to evangelize our youth.
The Diocese of Madison provides fantastic ministry opportunities for our youth during the summer, but during the school year and after Confirmation, options are fewer and further apart.
An opportunity is being missed to further evangelize and serve our youth, thus the need for the Xavier Mission Team came to fruition.
Through faith-filled events and retreats concentrating on formation and with an overarching message of being Catholic and pursuing holiness, the Xavier Mission Team is charged with:
- Providing energetic, supplemental support for teens within parishes throughout the diocese
- Providing additional formation for high school teens
- Continuing to foster a diocesan-wide community of teens, connecting young people and fostering friendships rooted in Christ
- Bringing new life and energy to the diocese
Through this new ministry, our youth will be encouraged in their faith when distractions are at an all-time high, inspiring youth to live a life rooted in Christ.
