He was born on September 7, 1949 in Janesville, Wisconsin. Father Connell is survived by his siblings Barb Curtis; Jim (Janice); John (Phyllis); Mary Joan Rebout; Peg (Marc) Gaida; Marilyn Runaas; Carolyn (Jan) Peterson, and Mike (Terri). He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Catherine (Howard) Connell and two brothers: Joseph and Daniel.
Fr. Thomas Doheny dies
Fr. Thomas Richard Doheny entered eternal life on March 1, 2023, at the age of 91 years at All Saints Neighborhood in Madison. He was born on February 5, 1932 in Janesville, Wisconsin. Father Doheny is survived by his nieces and nephews and many other friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Genevieve (McGinnity) Doheny, three brothers, Charles, Msgr. James, and John “Jack”, and two sisters, Anne Marie Kressin and Kathleen Burg.
Bishop Paul J. Swain dies at age 79
The Diocese of Madison, with sorrow, shares the news of the death of Most Reverend Paul J. Swain, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Sioux Falls, ordained a priest of the Diocese of Madison in 1988. Bishop Swain died on Saturday, November 26, at the age of 79, in hospice care after suffering significant medical complications in recent weeks. In recent days, Catholics in the Dioceses of Sioux Falls and Madison were asked to pray for Bishop Swain, as his condition worsened. Funeral arrangements in Sioux Falls are pending.
