To the editor:
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement for my daughter Lacey. We miss her every hour of every day. The sadness we feel cannot be put into words.

Obama should not be invited to speak at a Catholic university

To the editor:

We object to the position taken in the editorial in the May 14 issue of the Catholic Herald regarding Obama and the invitation to speak at Notre Dame University. That a person who supports abortion and sees contraception as prevention to abortion should speak at a Catholic university is wholly unacceptable and in opposition to Catholic teaching.

On abortion issue, Church is right and president is wrong

To the editor:

During President Obama’s commencement address at Notre Dame University, he said he and the Catholic Church were at an impasse. He claims that a woman should have the right to have an innocent and defenseless human being killed — a right no other member of a civilized society has.

Differences revealed inside, outside of Madison church

To the editor:
On May 3, unknown to the parishioners receiving the Eucharist at St. Patrick Church, Madison, protesters quietly gathered to surprise them when the doors opened after the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. Inside, parishioners celebrated their unity in the Eucharist, in the Mystical Body of Christ, and in their Catholic belief.

Continue to exert pressure against late-term abortions

To the editor:

The battle against late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center continues even after their February vote to proceed with plans to brutally dismember babies between 19 to 22 weeks of age. Our publicly-funded, flagship University of Wisconsin-Madison has put its stamp of approval on this atrocity. This decision “mainstreams” late-term abortions — offering them in the same state-of-the-art clinic where people receive a variety of medical treatments.

We could abolish AIDS, if we really wanted to do it

To the editor:

Regarding the pope’s condemnation of condoms in Africa:

While few would compare Pope Benedict XVI to John Lennon, their methods of saving humanity are in some sense similar.

Thanks for information

To the editor:

Thank you for the helpful information on addresses/e-mail addresses so we could input our objections to proposed regulations rescinding conscience protection for health care workers. I’m glad you were on top of this because I was not having any luck finding access.
