Dear Friends in Christ,
As Bishop of Madison, I am pleased to announce that I am designating Sunday, October 26, as Catholic Charities Sunday for the Diocese of Madison.
Catholic Charities exists to demonstrate Christ’s charity and truth by caring in faith for the human family. Catholic Charities is guided by Catholic Social and Moral Teachings in all they do to help those in need in the Diocese of Madison.
Catholic Charities fulfills their mission:
• With care, compassion, and mercy for the poor and vulnerable
• With respect and dignity for the human person
Let us join with Catholic Charities in strengthening families and nurturing children. Let us reflect on our personal responsibility and that of our parish community to participate in the outreach of the Church through the opportunities afforded by Catholic Charities. Let us fulfill our call to charity and truth through the good works of Catholic Charities.
