CDMF coloring contest winner announced

On January 26, 2022January 25, 2022
Madison Catholic Herald Staff
The winning entry in the Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation coloring contest for the Bosco Fund was by Eleanor from St. William School in Janesville.

MADISON — St. John Bosco, an Italian Catholic Priest from the 19th century, is known for investing his life in helping youth to receive an education and grow in the Catholic faith.

He often used magic tricks and juggling to connect with children and make learning fun.

The Bosco Fund

The St. John Bosco Tuition Assistance Fund (Bosco Fund) is aptly named for this patron saint of schoolchildren.

In 2021, the Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation (CDMF) granted $27,000 from the Bosco Fund to assist parish schools.

Responding to the challenges Catholic schools and families faced this past year, the CDMF also matched the grants with an additional $49,324 towards tuition assistance.

These grants served more than 50 families throughout the 11 counties of the diocese seeking a Catholic education for their children.

This year, the CDMF followed St. John Bosco’s example and decided to get creative.

A coloring contest was held featuring the artwork of Catholic schoolchildren from across the diocese.

Voting took place via contributions to the Bosco Fund.

The contest raised more than $5,000 which will foster future grants towards Catholic education.

The winner is . . .

We are excited to announce that the winner of the contest is Eleanor from St. William School in Janesville.

Eleanor will receive a $50 Culver’s Gift Card and St. William School will receive a grant for $1,000 from the CDMF.

Congratulations Eleanor and St. William and thanks to all those who participated, students, teachers, and donors.

The CDMF would like to offer a special thanks to our Catholic school educators and staff who work every day to make Catholic education possible.

St. John Bosco, pray for us.
