Couples invited to share marriage and faith

On March 5, 2009February 28, 2024
Andy Galvin, For the Catholic Herald

MADISON — The Diocese of Madison invites married couples to share their marriage and their faith with newly engaged couples.

The diocese is blessed to be able to offer marriage preparation for more than 700 engaged couples that come to the Catholic Church each year for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Now, that program has been strengthened to include John Paul the Great’s Theology of the Body.

This is an incredible opportunity to help couples start their marriage on a strong foundation, one that has the potential to strengthen their future family, the Church, our country, the world.  As John Paul II said:  “As the family goes, so goes the world.”

The Marriage Preparation program has been strengthened over the past few years to include a compelling program. The God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage program explains the Church’s beautiful teaching on marriage and sexuality and confronts the many challenges of our time, such as  contraception, pornography, infidelity, and divorce.

Our society is in great need of strong marriages. Won’t you help prepare them? We are in great need of married couples willing to teach this important message.

The diocese is offering a Facilitator Training on March 27 to 28 to prepare couples to lead this incredible program. The training will be held on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bishop O’Connor Center

For more details or to register online go to www.madisondiocese.org/mp Costs are covered by the diocese but donations will be accepted.
