Frassati Fest for teens set for February 5 to 7

On January 20, 2016
Kevin Wondrash

WISCONSIN DELLS — The annual Frassati Fest weekend for teens is set for Friday, Feb. 5, to Sunday, Feb. 7, at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Wisconsin Dells.

Frassati Fest provides inspiring catechesis, prayer, good conversation, and an opportunity for teens to dive deeper into the beauty of the Catholic faith with hundreds of their peers.

It’s called “the coolest weekend around for Catholic high school students in the Diocese of Madison.”

This year’s theme: ‘Surrender’

The planning team has been hard at work planning this year’s event — Surrender.

Everyone will “Surrender” to fun at the water park, “Surrender” fear and create authentic friendships with other Catholic teens, and ultimately have the chance to “Surrender” to the joy and happiness found in a relationship with Jesus Christ while learning about the beauty of their faith.

This year, Frassati Fest is welcoming speaker, musician, and writer Matt Faley as its keynote speaker.

He will also be part of a question and answer session during the fest.

The Freshly Brewed podcast team will be taking the stage again for a “live” recording — this year in the format of popular ESPN programs Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption.

There will also be “epic” large group games taking place.

A full band will be on hand to lead everyone in praise and worship music.

The “rock star” planning team will be joined by Camp Gray staff, Love Begins Here staff, and a priest from the diocese.

Other members of the Camp Gray SaLT (Servant Leadership) Team will help facilitate small group discussions, lead icebreakers, and help throughout the weekend to serve as an inspiration to the young people.
