MADISON — The Office of Worship of the Diocese of Madison is hosting a workshop about Catholic funerals on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Auditorium Meeting Room at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center, 702 S. High Point Rd.
November is the month in which the faithful offer fervent prayers for the dead. It is also a time to consider one’s own mortality. This informational evening is for those who wish to learn more about Catholic funerals and related rituals and who may even wish to consider a plan for their own funeral.
Each participant will receive a copy of Now and at the Hour of Our Death, which offers guidance for planning one’s own funeral. The seminar is free of charge. A donation of $3 to offset the cost of the participant booklets is appreciated if possible. The workshop will be about the funeral liturgy, and will not address end-of-life issues, living wills, or estate planning.
