Knights help citizens with disabilities

On October 23, 2008December 20, 2023
--

MADISON — The Wisconsin State Council Knights of Columbus has released the final figures of its recent Tootsie Roll Drive to “Aid Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities.”

The April-May 2008 weekend program raised in excess of $670,000 and local councils will distribute in their immediate area over $454,000 of these funds to local groups and organizations that assist the intellectually handicapped. The state committee will have available an additional $150,000 to distribute through their grant application process.

The Knights of Columbus encourage organizations that “Aid Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities” to submit applications for these state committee funds. Grant applications can be directed to: Wisconsin State Council Knights of Columbus, c/o Chuck Simmons, State Chairman, 63476 Lohman Ln., Eastman, WI 54626.

Fifteen (15) copies of the application are necessary and must be submitted by November 15, 2008. Applications must be written on the applying organization’s letterhead and must contain the following information: an exact amount of money needed for the project or service, what the money will purchase or provide, and how many individuals will be directly served by the grant. Organizations will be notified during the month of January 2009 as to the status of their grant.
