More rural life listening sessions scheduled for Iowa, Dane, and Marquette Counties

MADISON — Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison and Tom Nelson, diocesan rural life coordinator, invite farmers and other rural residents in Iowa, Dane, and Marquette Counties to talk about the strengths and challenges of living in rural Wisconsin.

  • Iowa County: Tuesday, May 24, 7 to 9 p.m., SS. Anthony & Philip Parish, 726 Main St., Highland — Fr. Jim Murphy, pastor.
  • Dane County: Tuesday, May 31, 7 to 9 p.m., St. Joseph Parish, 1935 Cty. Hwy V, East Bristol — Fr. Jared Holzhuter, pastor.
  • Marquette County: Tuesday, June 7, 6 to 8 p.m., Good Shepherd Parish, 241 E. 6th St., Westfield — Fr. Savio Yerasani, parochial administrator. Bishop Hying will join Father Yerasani for Mass at 5:15 p.m.These sessions are a continuation of those held last fall.

Bishop Hying attended and Nelson facilitated each of the sessions held in Green, Sauk, Jefferson, Lafayette, and Rock counties.

Nelson said the bishop has dedicated himself to “spend more time in our smaller communities, listen to the needs and challenges of our rural farmers and producers, and to respond with practical help.”
