New changes and features to the Catholic Herald

On October 1, 2025September 29, 2025
Catholic Herald Staff

For more than 75 years, the Catholic Herald, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Madison, has been a trusted source of Catholic news, stories of faith, and connection to the life of the Church in the diocese.

In mid-October, we’ll turn the page to a new and exciting chapter.

The Catholic Herald will expand its digital presence to better serve readers, offering access to new, quality Catholic feature content with resources to strengthen your faith, inspire your family, and deepen your relationship with Christ.

The Catholic Herald’s expanded digital efforts come with several new features that we are excited to share:

• A new, polished website, making it easier than ever to read Catholic Herald articles on the go.

• A new monthly e-newsletter, free and delivered directly to your email inbox.

• An enhanced social media presence, bringing daily inspiration and diocesan news to your Facebook and Instagram feeds.

• Expanded feature content, including reflections, family faith resources, Catholic living articles, and even new recipes.

The new content will also be featured in print editions of the paper, along with the local coverage readers have come to know and love.

In conjunction with the new offerings, the Catholic Herald will transition from weekly publication to every other week beginning October 16.

This decision comes after much prayer, consultation, and consideration of good financial and environmental stewardship.

By adjusting our print schedule, the diocese can continue to sustain the Catholic Herald’s long tradition of Catholic journalism while also investing in new ways to reach broader audiences with the Gospel.

The every-other-week print schedule is not completely new to Catholic Herald readers.

For many years, the Catholic Herald has adopted this schedule during the summer months, in addition to taking breaks following Christmas and the week of Easter Sunday.

Our mission remains the same: To proclaim Christ and share the stories of faith in our diocese.

Join us in print, online, on social media, and in prayer as we enter a new era for the Catholic Herald.
