MADISON — Michelle Larson, longtime staff member of the Diocese of Madison Office of Catholic Schools (OCS), is retiring at the end of this month.

Larson began her time with the office in 2008 as the project coordinator. She most recently held the position of program manager.

“We have a lot of different programs in the OCS, so my role has been to be in the background making sure that they all run smoothly so that the superintendent and assistant superintendent can focus on more important things,” Larson said.

“I have loved this job and the people that I work with directly and indirectly. It is so refreshing to work with people who love the Lord,” she added.

Speaking on Catholic education in the diocese, Larson added, “If a parent wants the best for their children they should certainly see that a Catholic education feeds the whole child and instills and strengthens the morals and virtues for that child to become a healthy and productive adult. Our school leaders are committed. It makes all the difference.”

Joining the team in the OCS this month is Grace Cutler, the new program coordinator.

Cutler grew up in the metro Detroit area of Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where she studied Economics.

She worked in healthcare IT in the Madison area for the past two years.

“I am incredibly thankful to be able to work for the Diocese of Madison,” Cutler said.

“My faith has grown exponentially during my time in Madison and I received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Madison on Easter Vigil in 2022. I am most looking forward to getting to serve Christ and His Church more directly in my work.”
