The Diocese of Madison has announced the merger of a new parish — Our Lady of Guadalupe — as of December 12.
This unites the church communities of Holy Redeemer and St. Patrick of Madison (formerly part of St. Raphael Parish) and St. James and St. Joseph (formerly part of Good Shepherd).
St. James School in Madison is also in the parish.
Fr. Drew Olson will serve as the pastor with Fr. Andrew Showers and Fr. José Luis Vazquez serving as parochial vicars.
Deacon Todd Burud will serve as deacon.
A Mass of installation will take place at a later date.
A future Catholic Herald article will feature Father Olson’s installation as pastor and more about the merger.
