New pastorate names in the diocese

Below is a list of the new pastorate names in the Diocese of Madison.

These provisional names would most likely become the new parish names upon the completion of the mergers.

Pastorate 1 becomes St. Joseph the Worker Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Mary — Bloomington
  • St. Charles Borromeo — Cassville
  • St. Mary, Help of Christians — Glen Haven
  • St. Clement — Lancaster
  • St. John — Patch Grove
  • Ss. Andrew and Thomas — Tennyson/Potosi

Pastorate 2 becomes St. Dominic Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Patrick — Benton
  • St. Rose of Lima — Cuba City
  • Holy Ghost — Dickeyville
  • St. Francis de Sales — Hazel Green
  • Immaculate Conception — Kieler
  • St. Mary — Platteville
  • St. Joseph — Sinsinawa

Pastorate 3 becomes St. Isidore the Farmer Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Philomena — Belmont
  • Our Lady of Fatima — Darlington/Calamine/Elk Grove/Seymour/Truman
  • St. Joseph — Gratiot
  • St. Matthew — Shullsburg
  • St. John — South Wayne

Pastorate 4 becomes Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Corpus Christi — Boscobel/Avoca/Clyde/Muscoda
  • Queen of All Saints — Fennimore/Castle Rock/Mt. Hope

Pastorate 5 becomes St. Pius of Pietrelcina Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Joseph — Dodgeville
  • Ss. Anthony and Philip — Highland
  • Ss. Mary and Paul — Mineral Point
  • St. Thomas — Montfort

Pastorate 6 becomes Ss. Joachim and Anne Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Luke — Plain
  • St. John the Evangelist — Spring Green
  • Mill Creek (currently part of Holy Cross Parish)
  • Lime Ridge (currently part of Holy Angels)
  • Loreto (currently part of Holy Angels)

Pastorate 7 becomes St. John Paul II Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Joseph — Baraboo
  • Sacred Heart — Reedsburg
  • St. Cecilia — Wisconsin Dells
  • LaValle (currently part of Holy Angels)

Pastorate 8 becomes Mary, Mother of Mercy Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Norbert — Roxbury
  • Divine Mercy — Sauk City/Merrimac
  • Mazomanie (currently part of Holy Cross Parish)

Pastorate 9 becomes St. John Henry Newman Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Mary, Help of Christians — Briggsville
  • St. John the Baptist — Montello
  • St. Faustina — Pardeeville/Buffalo
  • St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception — Portage
  • Good Shepherd — Westfield

Pastorate 10 becomes Mater Dei Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • All Saints — Berlin
  • Our Lady of the Lake — Green Lake
  • Holy Family — Markesan/Kingston
  • St. James — Neshkoro
  • St. John the Baptist — Princeton

Pastorate 11 becomes Christ the King Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Francis of Assisi — Belleville/Albany
  • St. Clare of Assisi — Monroe/Brodhead
  • Argyle (currently part of St. Isidore Parish)

Pastorate 12 becomes Queen of Martyrs Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Our Lady of the Assumption — Beloit
  • St. Jude — Beloit
  • St. Thomas the Apostle — Beloit
  • St. Stephen — Clinton

Pastorate 13 becomes St. Jane Frances de Chantal Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Nativity of Mary — Janesville
  • St. John Vianney — Janesville
  • St. Patrick — Janesville
  • St. William — Janesville

Pastorate 14 becomes St. Teresa of Calcutta Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Pius X — Cambridge
  • St. Joseph — Fort Atkinson
  • St. Francis of Assisi — Jefferson
  • St. Mary — Milton
  • St. Mary — Palmyra
  • St. Mary, Help of Christians — Sullivan

Pastorate 15 becomes St. Francis of Assisi Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Michael the Archangel — Mt. Horeb/Perry
  • St. Bernadette — Ridgeway/Barneveld
  • Hollandale (currently part of St. Isidore)
  • Blanchardville (currently part of St. Isidore)
  • Yellowstone (currently part of St. Isidore Parish)

Pastorate 16 becomes St. Thérèse of Lisieux Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Gabriel the Archangel — Lake Mills/Johnson Creek
  • St. Bernard — Watertown
  • St. Henry — Watertown

Pastorate 17 becomes Nativity of the Lord Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Jerome — Columbus
  • St. Olaf — DeForest
  • St. Patrick — Doylestown
  • St. Joseph — East Bristol
  • St. Thomas the Apostle — Poynette
  • St. Joseph — Rio

Pastorate 18 becomes St. Maximilian Kolbe Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Blessed Trinity — Lodi/Dane
  • St. John the Baptist — Waunakee
  • St. Mary of the Lake — Westport

Pastorate 19 becomes Holy Cross Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Peter — Ashton
  • St. Francis Xavier — Cross Plains
  • St. Martin of Tours — Martinsville
  • St. Bernard — Middleton
  • St. Mary — Pine Bluff

Pastorate 20 becomes Divine Mercy Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Maria Goretti — Madison
  • St. Christopher — Verona/Paoli

Pastorate 22 becomes Our Lady of Guadalupe Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Good Shepherd — Madison
  • St. Raphael — Madison

Pastorate 23 becomes Queen of Apostles Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Dennis — Madison
  • St. Peter — Madison

Pastorate 24 becomes St. Cletus Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Joseph — Edgerton
  • St. Paul — Evansville
  • St. Augustine — Footville
  • Holy Mother of Consolation — Oregon
  • St. Ann — Stoughton

Pastorate 25 becomes Epiphany of the Lord Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • Sacred Hearts — Sun Prairie
  • St. Albert the Great — Sun Prairie
  • Holy Family — Waterloo/Marshall

Pastorate 26 becomes Stella Maris Pastorate made up of the following parishes:

  • St. Patrick — Cottage Grove
  • Christ the King — McFarland
  • Immaculate Heart of Mary — Monona

Pastorates 21 and 27 to 30 did not receive new names since they are not expected to merge at this time for various reasons.
