Natural Family Planning classes offered

On January 15, 2014
Kevin Wondrash

MADISON — The Couple to Couple League (CCL) will offer classes on the sympto-thermal method of Natural Family Planning (NFP) at several locations this winter and spring.

Each course is taught by a married couple who are certified NFP instructors. The main NFP course is offered in a three-part series.

CCL now offers on-the-go mobile fertility tracking which allows couples to chart electronically, record fertility symptoms, and determine the fertile and infertile times of the cycle. All those who register for a CCL course will receive a free 90-day trial of fertility tracking with CycleProGo.

Schedules

Main NFP courses
Bloomington —
Sundays, March 2, March 30, and April 27, at 6 p.m. at St. Mary Parish taught by Rita and Doug White.
Janesville — Thursdays, beginning Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney Parish Center taught by Elaine and Tom McDonald. Remaining two class dates to be determined at the first class.
Madison — Saturdays, beginning March 15, at 10 a.m. at the Bishop O’Connor Center taught by Erin and Jeff Heller. Remaining two class dates to be determined at the first class.
Richland Center — Sundays, beginning March 2, at 1:15 p.m. at Richland Hospital taught by Blossom and Dr. Andy Wright. Remaining two class dates to be determined at the first class.
Verona — Saturdays, Feb. 8, March 8, and April 5, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Christopher Parish taught by Heather and Nathaniel Turner.
Postpartum class
Madison —
Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at the Bishop O’Connor Center taught by Erin and Jeff Heller.

Postpartum classes are offered periodically throughout the year. A postpartum class is designed to provide specific information on how to interpret fertility signs during the transitional stage between childbirth and the return of normal fertility cycles.

Couples interested in taking a postpartum class need to complete a CCL main NFP course or be concurrently enrolled in a CCL main course, or a CCL Home Study or Virtual course.

Pre-menopause classes are offered as needed. This class is designed to help NFP couples navigate during the time a woman’s body is adjusting hormonally to the natural ending of a woman’s fertile years.

Virtual online and home study courses are also available.

To hear couples share their story about NFP or for more information, go to: www.ccli.org or www.live-the-love.org

To register for a classes go to: www.madisondiocese.org or email Alison Hetue, NFP coordinator, at [email protected] or call 608-821-3134. NFP classes will be added, as new couples become certified.
