Our Lady of Hope Clinic secures location

On February 12, 2009February 14, 2024
--

MADISON — Our Lady of Hope Clinic announced that it has signed a five-year lease for what will become Dane County’s newest and most unique primary care clinic.

The clinic will open its doors at 6425 Odana Rd., Suite D on Thursday, April 2. Doctors Michael Kloess and Anne Volk Johnson say the clinic will meet the highest standards of medical ethics while providing family medicine in an authentically Christian health care tradition.

Living out their faith

“Now more than ever, Southern Wisconsin needs a primary care clinic specifically designed to meet the needs of families living out their faith,” said Dr. Kloess, the clinic’s president. “We’re also delighted to establish a medical facility where uninsured residents can receive top-quality primary care free of charge.”

Kloess came up with the idea for Our Lady of Hope Clinic over a year ago upon learning of St. Luke’s Clinic in Modesto, Calif. Established in 2003, St. Luke’s provides concierge health care to benefactors in exchange for a modest annual contribution that funds the clinic’s service to the uninsured. Our Lady of Hope Clinic will follow this same model that has found success in California.

Caring for people

In recent years, concierge care became popular in urban and coastal areas, providing extended appointment times, highly individualized care, and unparalleled access to a personal physician.

With the demand for excellent health care higher than ever, Our Lady of Hope Clinic gives Wisconsin residents a new and innovative option for taking care of their own health, body, mind, and souls, while also supporting people in need.

“Simply put, we became doctors to care for people,” Dr. Johnson said. “Our Lady of Hope Clinic makes it possible for us to do just that. We can follow our calling as Christian doctors by providing corporal works of mercy to those in need and providing highly personalized care to individuals and families.”

‘A great blessing’

The news that the clinic has secured a location and scheduled an opening date is welcome news to many area residents.

“What a great blessing it is that patients can now choose a clinic where they know their values of respect for all human life will be shared,” said David R. J. Stiennon, a Madison attorney and member of Our Lady of Hope Clinic’s board of directors.

“It means so much to have doctors who appreciate the gift of fertility and who will place their medical expertise at the service of couples who are having difficulties conceiving a child.”

Both doctors have received training in natural procreation technology at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Nebraska.

Stiennon expressed his gratitude to Dr. Kloess and Dr. Johnson for choosing to establish their clinic in Madison. “The commitment these doctors are making to our community is huge,” he said. “It’s up to us as a community to step up to the plate and provide the support they need.”

Our Lady of Hope Clinic is still recruiting benefactors to ensure its long-term success. For information on how to become a patient  or how you can help spread Our Lady of Hope Clinic secures locationthe word about the clinic, contact Steve Karlen at 608-445-2063.
