Science Tests Faith is a presentation which includes videos of the testimony and reports of three professionals — an attorney, a scientist, and a journalist — who have examined certain mystical phenomena that have occurred in the Catholic Church in modern times.
Their work, Signs from God, Science Tests Faith, investigates Eucharistic miracles, the phenomenon of a statue of Jesus that weeps tears and blood, the stigmata in a current day mystic, and more.
Scientific testing
In particular, they report on the scientific testing conducted in relation to these reported events, which has found blood and flesh, human DNA, heart muscle, and white blood cells from consecrated Communion hosts and a plaster statue that started “bleeding.”
An example of their recent scientific findings concerning a modern Eucharistic miracle in Argentina, carried out at the request of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Buenos Aires (now Pope Francis), are exceptional, and a “must” for all who seek the truth about Jesus being truly present in the Eucharist.
Increasing devotion to the Eucharist is one of the goals for You Shall Believe Ministries, which created the presentations.
After reading about science and miracles, ministry founder Tim Francis grew from a “cultural Christian” into a person devoted to “rousing the faithful” to grow deeper in their faith and to have a greater impact upon secular culture, says the ministry website.
Based on book
The presentation is based on the book Reason To Believe, officially launched in 2007 by the Office of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese Of Sydney, Australia, under Cardinal George Pell.
The person who organized the launch was Fr. John Flader, the head of Catholic adult education in the archdiocese. He read and approved the book as a recommended Catholic publication.
Presentations being held throughout country
Brian Truckenbrod and members of the Presentation Team for You Shall Believe Ministries, have been leading the Science Tests Faith program at parishes throughout the country.
The presentation is billed as appropriate for all audiences, including skeptics, doubters, believers, and non-believers.
The presentation has brought about many conversions and the rededication of many Catholics to a renewed vigor in their faith.
“Modern-day instances of these types of miraculous activities are just a continuation of what has been happening for thousands of years,” said Truckenbrod said.
“Seeing and hearing the scientific evidence about these events is absolutely staggering.”
In addition to bringing some people back to the faith, past participants were drawn to the Sacrament of Confession and to Adoration in greater numbers.
The next presentation in the Diocese of Madison will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pine Bluff on Friday, Feb. 7, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. It will be part of the “Night of Knights” — a men’s event for the Knights of Divine Mercy. The evening will begin with Mass at 5:30 p.m. and Holy Hour from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
