Vicky Skilondz named associate director of planning

MADISON — Vicky Skilondz has been named associate director of the diocesan Office of Planning.

She will work with Grant Emmel, vice chancellor and director of the Office of Planning, to provide documentation, training, and oversight for the Trusting in the Spirit parish planning process.

“I’m excited to extend the diocese’s commitment to supporting parishes through Vicky’s customer service focus,” said Emmel. “Her gift for training and helping parish staff with their problems has already paid dividends as part of Trusting in the Spirit.”

Previous experience

Skilondz returned to work for the Diocese of Madison in August of 2007 as an administrative assistant with the diocesan Offices of Finance and Planning. She had previously worked in the diocese until 2001 as administrative assistant to Bishop William H. Bullock.

After leaving the diocese, she worked as office manager of an accounting firm and then started her own business, Office 911, for which she provided mobile secretary work, taught QuickBooks and Microsoft products, and did business office organization.

Providing training and parish support

In her position with the Office of Planning, her focus is on providing individual training and parish support in ParishSOFT and QuickBooks. She will also continue to assist with the Trusting in the Spirit process.

“I have been doing a lot of this work since January of this year, so it’s exciting that I can focus on training and do more parish support. I really like working with software and people,” she said.

“I have a lot of ideas that I can’t wait to put into practice. I’m working on a whole new approach to training where I focus on training people in what they really need for their job.”

Skilondz will also be adding more helpful information to the ParishSOFT and QuickBooks diocesan Web pages. She also looks forward to hearing feedback from parishes as to what they need and want in relation to these two programs.

Katelin Cummins has been hired as a part-time administrative assistant for the Office of Planning. She also works part-time with the Evangelical Catholic.

Skilondz can be reached at [email protected] or [email protected]
